Re-opening Campus for M-F In-Person School – August 16
We learned a lot during Pandemic Schooling 2.0 (also known as the 2020-2021 school year). We learned things that worked (distancing, masking, hand hygiene, healthy buildings mitigations, sick leave protocols) and things that were not as necessary (daily screenings, desk shields, and travel policies.
As we move into the 2021 fall school year (Pandemic Schooling 3.0), we will continue to follow the science and implement guidelines from the CDC, American Pediatric Association (APA), and other healthy professionals. We remain committed to being the safest school in the region.
Currently over 95% of our employees are vaccinated.
We will continue to require masks inside, but they will be optional outside unless distancing isn’t possible. Much of the linked reopening info packet below will remain in place except for the daily morning screening and the visitor policy. Both will be updated to reflect the latest developments and recommendations by medical experts.
Our healthy buildings protocols will remain in effect throughout campus. These include 5 critical systems for protecting our students, families, and faculty.
- Each classroom has its own HVAC unit, ensuring limited air being shared between classrooms.
- Each classroom space has its own HEPA air purifier which cycles the air 3 – 5 times per hour.
- Each classroom is outfitted with a MERV-13 filter.
- Each air handler has an ionizer that kills viruses, mold, and bacteria without producing ozone.
- Ample access to outdoor spaces including porches, outdoor classrooms, and over 7 acres of outdoor space.
Finally, our expectations for eating will remain in place as well. Students will eat outside when possible. In the event they eat inside, it will be a silent eating time.
We will not be offering a digital academy this year.
Instead, we are excited to be reopening campus and welcoming families back! The below packet includes additional detail about our practices (click the Campus Reopening Info Packet button below), including:
