How to Apply for CLC Financial Aid via FAST

A.  Calendar Deadlines when applying for the 2021-2022 Academic Year

January 1, 2021

Application window opens for the 2021-2022 academic year.

March 15, 2021 – Extended to April 15, 2021

Deadline to:

  • Complete FAST application online and pay the application fee
  • Submit a signed, but not dated, copy of Form 4506-T to the CLC Business Office
March 31, 2021 – Extended to April 30, 2021

Deadline to submit ALL supporting documentation to FAST for verification.  See below for a list of required documentation.

B.  Steps to Apply for Financial Aid at CLC

  1. Apply for Step Up for Students
    • All families that apply for CLC Financial Aid are required to also apply for the Step Up for Students Income-Based Scholarship.
    • A Letter of Determination that includes either an award, denial, or wait list notification must be submitted to the CLC Business Office in order for your FAST application to be considered.  FAST applications cannot be considered until this is complete.
    • You should apply for both FAST and Step Up for Students concurrently and as early as possible to ensure all deadlines are met.
    • Once your FAST app is received and your documents are all verified, the FAST app will be placed on hold until your Step Up for Students Letter of Determination is received by the CLC Business Office.
  2. Complete a FAST Application
  3. Submit a Signed Copy of Form 4506-T to the CLC Business Office
    • Deadline to submit Form 4506-T is MARCH 15, 2021.  Extended to April 15, 2021
    • Please sign, but do not date.  CLC will date it upon submission to the IRS.

  4. Submit All Supporting Documentation
    • Deadline to submit all supporting documentation to FAST is March 31, 2021. Extended to April 30, 2021
    • All families that apply for CLC Financial Aid are required to also apply for the Step Up for Students Income-Based Scholarship.
    • Required documents include:
      • Copy of all 2020 W-2s and 1099s
      • Copy your 2020 federal tax form 1040 with all attached schedules
      • Copy of your 2020 business tax return(s) with all attached schedules (if applicable)
      • Copy of most recent month’s check stubs
      • Copy of most recent utility bill
      • Any other documentation required by FAST for verification

C.  Late Applications/Missed Deadlines

PLEASE NOTE:  Due to limited funds, families applying for Financial Aid after the deadline dates listed above risk not receiving aid for the upcoming school year, even if you would otherwise qualify.  PLEASE APPLY EARLY!

Financial aid applicants who do not adhere to the deadlines above may still apply, but will be placed on a waiting list pending the completion of the first round of applications.  ALL supporting documentation must be received by the deadlines above to be included in the first round.

Should any funds remain or become available after the first round of decisions are made, families on the waiting list who have submitted all supporting documentation will be notified.

Families who do not qualify for aid based on the FAST report and federal tax forms will receive a letter to notify them that they do not qualify for financial assistance.
